There is some fabulous history behind the ANZAC biscuit, and one of our loyal shoppers and culinary historian, Allison Reynolds, knows all about it through her dedicated research. While we have decided that the twilgiht market is not the place for her to share this great history with us (we hope to organise a seperate event for this soon) she has agreed to judge an ANZAC biscuit competition on the night! If you would like to read a little about her research check out this blog article
While you can use any recipe (like the yummy honey recipe we sent round last year) for your entry here is the version Allison regards to be most historically accurate, and also if used will mean you are all on a level playing field!
Entries must be at the twilight market by 4:30pm for judging to occur after 5pm. A full batch of biscuits on a plate of your choosing need to be entered. An adults and a child’s prize will be awarded for the best biscuits. Please complete the entry form by Tuesday the 21st April.
