Who doesn’t love cake – even just a little bit? I (Peta) am not even that much of a sweet tooth – I prefer most of my food with an abundance of salt, but the occasional bit of cake really doesn’t go astray! Yet how do we stick to our local food values while enjoying said sweet treat? Get creative of course!
This will be the 4th annual cake competiton, and I just can’t wait to see what combinations are going to emerge. In previous years we have seen the use of local olive oil and rosemary (yes combined into one delicious winning cake), red wine, pumpkin, chilli – as well as all the usual fruit suspects.
Even if you aren’t a baker, it is worth coming along to ooh and ahh at the fabulous cakes and find out what produce has inspired this years entrants.
An entry form for the competition will be added here shortly.
