Simon Bryant once said “Cooking for someone is one of the nicest things you can do”… And on Saturday, 6 February he’ll be cooking for you at the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market!
Come and learn the benefits of seasonal cooking with Simon at the market, using nothing but fresh, local and seasonal produce from our stallholders.
***This incredible cooking demo is FREE! Please RSVP by visiting our Facebook Event Page then click ‘Going’. This will help us to cater for numbers.***
Simon strongly believes in using his profile to highlight ethical food issues, including paying fair prices to producers for ethically produced food, as well as using local, seasonal, fresh ingredients with minimal environmental affect. Above all, he is an advocate of simple produce-driven cooking (just like us!).
“I love the Adelaide Hills and it’s a rare privilege to live in a city where you can leave the CBD and be in the hills in under an hour…you just don’t find that in many places. It’s a productive little region that punches above its weight for hard fruit, olives and oils, artisan cheese, dairy, small scale meat producers and of course fresh veggies!” says Simon.
“Just go to a market, buy what looks good and be inspired by what you can create when you get home. Recipes are just guides so if something isn’t seasonally available there will always be a substitute and this can often create a better dish than you had planned.”
See you at the market!
